Isn't promoting Christian Family values from the President's bully pulpit cramming a lifestyle down someone else's throat?

Vote for a Muslim. Muslims will insure good Christian family values like marriage before sex, over turn Roe vs Wade and end abortion, child molesters will go to jail and stay in jail, and not hit on interns on the hill, rapist and perverts will be dealt with and not be in a position of authority. Senators will not make all expense trips to Israel, pledging their allegiance to Israel before America.
OK I am being sarcastic here, but do you get my point? The bible says....let the person without sin pass the first stone..... The religious right voted for George Bush, did he do anything about family values, gay marriage? The Christian right voted these criminals in office now you want us to trust their judgment again? Pat Robertson just endorsed Rudy - gay rights, abortion right , liberal Giuliani. Did you hear me, Pat Robertson one of the most influential so called Christian leaders in the Christian coalition, a so called Christian conservative who talked about abortion so many times on his program openly supported Rudy for President.
I believe there is something called separation between religion and state. I wanted to turn the argument around just to make my point. If the Neo Cons that are ruling represent what true Christians values are, then I would rather have an Atheist in office. Christian leaders / nations have created more wars and Imperialism than any other religion.
How about voting for a "just" leader. Well that is, someone who has a solid voting record and a proven record. Ron Paul is against abortion etc... but what Christians are voting for him?

You'd be surprised that 'Family Values' are practiced by many people besides christians. So basically you only want YOUR brand of family values promoted. The best advice I would give to a future president would be to stay far away from the extremes of both sides. A president is not elected to be someones spiritual advisor, or the American Dali Lama. Government and religion need to continue to be kept as far apart as possible.

There are many proud patriotic American citizens who are tired of people on the right shoving their so-called Christian family values down our throats!!!
We are especially tired of the most public leaders of your Christianity who in private don't practice what they preach, think Larry Craig, David Vitter and the leader of the Evangelicals being a drug addicted closeted homosexual!!!
I don't care if we ensure a Christian leader!
I'd rather they were simply honest and honorable and believed in the constitution!
No one is supposed to be judged 'worthy' of occupying the office of the President of the United States of America based on their religious beliefs!! It is unconstitutional to require them to do so!!!

one way to promote democracy is to stop forcing your beliefs upon other people because that is anti christian. god gave all people freedom of choice so if someone chooses not to follow your beliefs who are you to try force anything on anyone? and to try and and take away any ones freedom of speech well that's just wrong. maybe you would be happier in north Korea or somewhere else that's a dictatorship.

The best way would be to throw out The Constitution and Bill of Rights, and reform The USA as a Christian Theocracy.
I, along with most Americans, would be against this course of action.

Why, when there is a separation of Church and State. We cant even trust your own minters with all your Ted Haggards and pedophile priests, and now you want one in the White House? Let government pass laws, not churches

You need to be a little more specific, you and I may or may not agree on what is a sinful lifestyle.
So anyone answering you question would be generalizing.
I believe Jesus promoted the purest form of socialism ever conceived and I embrace ALL the tenets of that philosophy.

forcing christainity down people's throats is acceptable though? No, it isn't. You shouldn't be voting based on your religious beliefs, you should vote based on political issues. Just because a politician has different religious beliefs than you doesn't mean he/she isn't good for the job.
