I have done Internet speed tests for computers on both DSL and cable. In all cases, DSL speeds were faster than cable Also DSL is more reliable thatn cable's frequent outages and slowdowns.

Yes, you are guaranteed to have a certain download speed, with cable you will share so during busy times you will often not hit the max speeds. Also, DSL is generally more reliable than cable, phones are rarely not working.

it doesnt matter what type of connection you have... all it matters is the bandwidth (download/upload speeds) the faster, the better
