This will add major weight to the rig, but for THE best punch and overall projection, nothing beats a 12-inch ElectroVoice speaker. I have replaced all the speakers in all of my amps, from a Fender Champ 25 to a Randall RM50 MTX, and the difference is immediate; the new EV's have so much more presence and response.

i blew a set of altec lansings so i went to steel double magneted jensens id prefer a box of six ten's cerwin vega's but the cash is the problem i used to know the guitar techs in town and get some old speaker sets and make my own pre amps and set of boxes and columns good luck

I only have one 4x12 -- its an old Laney. The speakers are "HH Premium". That is a 240 watt stereo cabinet, a "half-slant", and it is the loudest cabinet I have ever heard. They are the stock speakers.
