Depends on the situation.

Would I tell a murderer that I lived alone when I didn't to save my loved ones? Yes.
Would I commit fraud in order to help a friend get more money from a settlement? Not likely.

All depends on how well I knew the person and what they wanted me to lie about and who might all be hurt about it so the only advice I can give is use your judgement and put yourself in the others shoes

I think that even one lie is a bad thing because it causes a domino effect and you have to keep building on them or they will tumble down on you!!
