It would be a sign of weakness to our enemies. The only thing the Islamo-Fascists know is strength and power. When they perceived us to be weak, during the Clinton Administration, they attacked our interests with impunity.
And when they began to plan for 9/11, they fully expected the same thing from Gore. They never dreamed that a hard hitting, no nonsense cowboy would become president, and come over there and kick their terrorist butts!

Diplomacy only works when two parties/countries have a commonality and are willing to work out a reasonable solution. Modern day terrorist types are only interested in invoking fear and death upon anyone who doesn't conform to their beliefs. I don't know about you, but I see people who attach IEDs to children and hack off the limbs of others they disagree with as less than reasonable.
