Had one in the house and a mag mount for the car but that was back in the 80's and 90's. Had a mains variable booster that used to knock out next doors telly!! Wonderful days!!!

I was Lady in Waiting (expecting at the time) and hubby was Metal man - weird now I come to think of it!

Had many 'eyeballs' too!!

yes , my parents used to be well known radio hams in the 80's and i was well known locally in eastanglia in the 90's
my handle was Maverick
i havent been on there for about 5 years but even now when i see people that i used to know on there they still call me maverick lol
dont think they remember my really name

About 20 years ago, I had the aerial on a biscuit tin in my bedroom. I saw a guy in a car few days ago with one. First time ive seen one in years.

many moons ago , back in the 80's . i was the first in my area to have one and i went by the handle ' Golden Maggot ' . Havent used one in nearly 20 years , but i stil have a cobra 148 upstairs in the loft

I've got one in the house and one in the car. It's a lot cheaper than the phone when I want to talk to my other half on a night shift!
My handle is Mirage...it's a nickname I was given in High School... I asked a friend once why I was being called Mirage and he said, "'coz you ain't f*****g real!" and it kinda stuck.

I never had one but I knew people who did. Those were the days. They use to talk to people for hours on end. It was a great past time then.

When we were first married Hubby had one ... bloomin' thing used to drive me scatty ... worse than football!
