What else doesn't she wash? Is her house dirty too? Her clothes? Her car? I hope you live elsewhere? Don't let her within 10 feet of your child unless you are armed with a can of Lysol and a bottle of sanitizer!! Sorry she's your mother! Thank god she didn't pass on her lack of hygiene genes.
Good luck with your baby!

So your mom showers twice a month, whether she needs to or not? lol.
Yeah, there is no way I'd let her hold my child, baby's grandmother or not.
That is nasty, I'm sure she's got some kinda nasty things on her body.
My daughter and I both shower daily! No excuses!
(she's 10 months)

I used to tell my family and friends that if they didn't wash their hands, they couldn't hold my baby. I also carried around anti-bacterial gel/foam and squirted it in everyone's hands before letting them touch her. Be firm! I also told some people who were sensitive about being told to wash their hands that since my daughter was born during flu season that the doctor told me to have everyone wash their hands. When you mention "doctor" people tend to listen better and not blame you. Good luck!

Are you kidding me? No offense, but your mom sounds GROSS.
I suggest finding some health articles on hygiene.
The handwashing article should be easy to find - preventing disease from your newborn baby.

You're totally in the right. Does she live with you? or vice versa? Why does she do this?
