When you enter a University how do you go about to obtain special honors at your ceremony the end of your college study? ( example: in High School you get the National Honor Society recognition by wearing a stash around your neck)

Do you go by the same procedure in high school where you fill out an application, or is it offered to you? Who do you get in contact with..etc?

The general honors at college graduation are "*** laude", "magna *** laude", and "summa *** laude". They are based solely on GPA, so if your GPA meets the standards, they will list you that way in the program. Since all they care about is your GPA, you don't usually have to fill anything out or contact anyone. (sorry, I forgot that that middle word would get the censors' attention because of another usage of it. The word is c_m, with a "u" in the middle of it).

Many colleges also recognize top students with Phi Beta Kappa awards. Not all schools do, however, though perhaps they have other academic-type honors.
