anyone remember or have albums by any 70s rockers that put out an album but never seemed to get off the ground?
Thinking of two I remember: one was White Witch, who were on the Capricorn label. Still have the self-titled album (but they may have put out one more).
Then there was Boones Farm --- they were on Columbia records. Saw 'em on a triple bill with BOC and Quicksilver. I'm sure they never put out another.
Any others you all recall?

Hello Ray
I remember White Witch and Boone's Farm. White witch was the better of the two
How about Hydra? They were pretty heavy. Ever hear of them?
Or a tad less obscure than Hydra
Amon Duul II
Colosseum II
Automatic Man
Back Street Crawler
Atomic Rooster
Eloy
Babe Ruth
Detective

UFO and Rainbow are two of My favorite bands, but they are not very obscure
Motrose another of My faves their debut album is pretty much the first defining statement of American Metal

The bands that " Didn't Make It " ( so to speak ) were the BEST bands of that decade -

The MC 5 - The Godz - Starz - The Ramones -The Dictators -
Bloodrock - Backstreet Crawler - Cactus - The Jam - Grin -
Captain Beyond - Trapeze - Sweathog - Redeye - The Pezband - and don't forget Ginger Baker's Air Force.

well one of my favorite artists was Ruby Starr... remember Black oak arkansas? she sang on a few tunes with JD mangrum (aka)Jim Dandy. She put out a solo album titled scene stealer and also recorded an album with Grey Ghost , Both are fantastic works from this little soulful gal , she had a great voice! she also did some other recordings as Ruby Jones ( her real name) but somehow she missed the recognition she truly deserved . she died of cancer in the early 90s... I have both the albums I listed and wish I could get them digitized , as of now I can only play the vinyl, or a cassette from them . be happy to send you a copy if you like just let me know.....mttdwtt@yahoo.com. Peace

>> Chris Jagger ~ apparently Mick's brother.
>> Mother Goose ~ they had a really funny song called 'baked beans' but remained largely unheard of after that.
>> The Vapours ~ had a great song called 'turning Japanese' ~ one hit wonder though.
>> Howard Eynon......I think only one album produced called 'So what if I'm standing in apricot jam'
>> Ciao!

UFO & Montrose never seemed to have a following in the vain of say, Queen or Zepp. Same goes for Head East.

*Dude above me- Ratt is the 80s.

Shawn Phillips; after 2 impressive albums he petered out.
Sad, for a beautiful & talented songwriter and singer.
