Hey, you could live in the heart of New York and be a Red Sox fan if you want, it is all good. You can live in Boston and be a Yankee fan, no problem. You could even live in Buffalo and be a Patriot fan, few will really care. There are fans all over the country that like a team somewhere other than where they actually live. It is why satellite and cable sports networks have a huge market outside the home team's area.

I could live in Nigeria and I would still say "GO BIG RED MACHINE"!

Since the Patriots will win more games than the Giants and Jets combined, cheering for the Patriots is a good choice. There is a certain common theme. As a Patriot fan, I go into the season expecting them to go deep in the playoffs. Until very recently, any playoff appearance by the Red Sox marked a good year. The Yankees have been to the playoffs for the entire Torre period and Yankee fans have enjoyed the same sense of entitlement that Patriot fans have developed. I know Red Sox fans who don't follow football and Patriot fans who don't follow baseball, so liking one does not require you to like the other.

Sure! Be a fan of which ever teams you want to.

I used to live in New England (Vermont & Massachusetts), but I had to move to Kentucky because of my dad's job. New England really is where my heart is (as well as my favorite sports teams!) I'm a Red Sox & Patriots fan and I have been for as long as I can remember. Honestly, its hard for me to think of a time that I HAVEN'T watched Red Sox or Patriots games.

People might think its a little odd that you're a Yankees & Patriots fan, but that's the good thing about sports...there are no "set" teams you have to root for...everyone is different. Just go with your Yankees and Patriots & ignore anyone who says you can't.

Last I looked this is a free country and there are no rules stating what teams you need to root for......Its fine....I am a Yankee and JETS fan myself.....Most Jet's fans are Met's Fans and Most Yankee fans are Giants fans....whatever floats your boat!!!

Makes perfect sense. Of course we'd rather have you with the Sox, but I can see why you'd give in to the dark side under the circumstances. ;^)

As long as you stand by your teams and are not one of those fairweather fans. You know they type root for whoever is winning. Giants, Yankees, Knicks, and Rangers these are my teams now and forever.

You live in America. Cheer for whomever you want.

Just remember to wear your Pats hat at Foxboro.
