i think, at the moment. that 1 moment can surely last forever, and it would be something that the essence of you asked for.
something received that you didn't ask for and lingers around could become a nuisance.
example: a b/f or spouse, companion, husband can become a bore and/or hanging around just because.
an animal: you could be allergic to or never liked.
an automobile that gives you an extra expense that you don't need or have the funds to pay for.
BUT, when you get something that you need, you tend to have more respect and a compassion about it, as simple as it may be.
a letter (note)/phone call from someone who means a lot to you rom the past.
maybe someone over heard you mention a book or little ornament that you love, and then gives it to you, just because.
maybe a child or stranger walks up to you and smiles and say you are beautiful just at that moment when you were feeling unsure about life, JUST BECAUSE.

Can only guess your talkin' "CHRISTMAS".........
That would probably depend upon the "giver"........
If its from "your love" or a "loved one" vs. "friend/acquaintance"...........
The 1st something that will last/memories.....
The 2nd something I really could use or need.....
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU & YOURS!!
