Youth are determined if they are minors when buying movie tickets, otherwise, the employee or theater operator could be fined.

At all Regal cinemas, I have managed to get into "R" rated movies by buying a ticket from a kiosk without any problems or ID checks. The only movie that I heard people had problems doing this with was Superbad.

To buy movie tickets at kiosk you have to have a credit card, so it is assumed that you are over 18. They can still refuse you entrance when they tear your tickets.

Dude, if it is a multiplex then you buy a ticket for the PG-13 blockbuster, they take your ticket before the concession stand, and no one cares what screen you walk into. If you look obviously too young and creeped out, better wait until they turn down the lights, or some grownup will get you tossed.

if kiosks you mean one of the credit card machines outside then, no they dont check your age when you give the usher your ticket. but if some people are being rowdy in your theatre and your usher comes in and is checkin out the scene and see's you and you dont look old enough for a rated R, he might ask where the adult in your group is....

good question. There isn't a way they can check but when you hand the ticket to the person, they may ask, but i doubt it cuz they will think you already got checked at the desk

No. I went to see "sideways" when I was like 12 by myself, and they didn't say anything. (sideways is rated r). But they might sometimes, probobly depending on how much they value their jobs.
