My oil light flashed the day after I hit the pothole, my nephew looked under the car and said it was not my oil pan. He said he believed it was a seal and that the engine had to be remove to fix the problem. The problem is the part is like 10 to 12 dollars but its the labor. I have been driving the car but now it is parked because it cost so much to keep putting oil in the car, and I don't want to do anymore damage. Could you please help me! Also, could you tell me about how much it might cost.

Look for something simple. It,s prolly something like a dented oil filter or a cracked filter housing. Forget the front/rear seals. If it was that, the pan would be smashed.

I'm sorry but you don't blow a front or rear main seal by hitting a pothole. If you did (somehow), the transmission needs to be removed just to get at the rear seal, and lots of "stuff" needs to be removed to get at the front seal.
Usually a pothole will can damage the oil pan, or its gasket. I would double check that.
In any case, the problem can't be fixed unless the leak is traced for sure. In the mean time, make sure you no not drive the car w/o enough oil, or you're looking at a new engine.

It depends if its the front or rear main seal. Manual or automatic trans.Degrease your engine and find out exacly where the leak is

may have cracked your belly pan or knocked your drain plug loose or bent it. I defiantly would get it checked out! It could be something minor but if you keep running your car it can turn into something major!!
