At least he has the sensibility to put it up in the first place. Would you rather he leave it in the position you prefer (which is down) and pee all over it? No, because if he did that you would then have something else to complain about.

You are doing great if that's the worst he does. But I know how frustrating that can be. My husband has always left the seat up until recently. Our youngest son started playing in the toilet. I think after I made him clean up the mess and was his son enough times he tired of it and started putting both the seat and the lid down.

For future reference for when you start having kids. Teach your boys from the start to put the seat down. My 6 year old son even corrects Daddy about putting the seat down since he has been taught from the start to do so.

At least he doesn't leave it down when he goes and sprinkle all over the seat! LOL

Having a husband and two teenage boys, the only fair way to do it is to get everyone in the habit of putting the seat lid down after going...that way, everyone has to lift the lid.

Hope it helps...you may just end up accepting that has one of his habits.

Why is that a bad habit? Men leaving the seat up so that women have to lower it is no worse than women always leaving it down so that men always have to raise it. It's equally bad either way. I'm sick of women telling me it always has to be down, just for THEIR convenience. What about that?!

Tell him that when you flush the toilet with the lid up that the small droplets of water from the bowl enter the air and land on everything...including the toothbrushes !
It is true...no kidding. Leaving the lid down is much more hygenic.

If this is his worst habit you've got yourself a keeper. Kindly ask him to close it but don't dwell on it.
