I've been exclusively pumping for 5 weeks and there is a big difference between what I get from each side. At first I'd get 3 ounces from one and 5 from the other. Now the difference is more like 5 ounces to 1oz. Why is there such a difference and why does that one keep producing less and less?

Sometimes you have a dominant boob. (that sounds crazy!)

I am a full time pumper.. and i find the same thing. One will get almost 2 more ounces then the other.

If you want to produce more from the one make'n less... pump longer on that side. Make sure you keep pumping for 5 minutes after all milk has stopped flowing. That should help!

I have been pumping for 9 1/2 months.. let me know if you need any resources!

breasts are smart i breastfed my daughter for almost 2 years think in terms of supply and demand if you want this lazy breast to produce more milk have your baby breast feed only on that side for a day or 2 make sure and continue pumping on the other the amount a baby nurses on a breast is the amount of milk the breast will produce that's why as you nurse less the milk adjusts also. also why only pumping breastfeeding is great for so many reasons

I hardly ever pumped but I also noticed one breast leaked more than the other one and seemed bigger and my daughter seemed to nurse longer from it. Nature isn't into evenness.

Sometimes one side just has more tissue and milk ducts than the other. None of us are naturally symmetrical.
