Keep the rock indoors.

Well, there aren't really 'rocks' in bayous. Its mostly unconsolidated sediments. While it impossible to stop all erosion you can plant plants that tend to have extensive root systems like kudzu or mangrove to hold the sediment down.

Realistically, you can't stop the weathering of anything if its exposed to the elements in some way. Maybe slow it down, but never stop it.
