On this paper I'm supposed to make an equation, table, and graph for the the given two word problems but I don't understand how to do it. Here's how the questions goes:

1. Maria has $25 dollars to spend at the bowling alley. It costs $10 to rent shoes, and $4.50 per game to bowl. How many games can she bowl?

2. Sallie calculated that it takes her 10 minutes to solve the equations and graph them. It has taken her five minutes to get herself organized and ready to work. If she worked for three hours, how many equations did she solve and graph? Hint: How many minutes are in one hour?

I really need help on this real bad.
I will give best answer, just please help me.

not hard
1. Maria has $25 dollars to spend at the bowling alley. It costs $10 to rent shoes, and $4.50 per game to bowl. How many games can she bowl?
We know that 10 bucks is gone for shoes. That leaves 15. How many 4.50's are there in 15. Answer is 3.
2.What we know here is that there are 180 minutes in 3 hours.
BUT, 5 minutes are gone. This leaves 175 minutes. How many 10 minutes are in 175 minutes. There are 17 with 5 minutes left over. So she can solve 17 problems.

1) I'm not sure exactly what they want for the table and graph part, but I hope this helps:
The equation for how much money is spent bowling would be 10 + 4.5x, so since we know that maria has $25, we know that 10 + 4.5x must be less than 25:
10 + 4.5X < 25
4.5X < 15
Maria can play 3 games and she'll have 1.50 left.

For 2:
5 + 10x is the equation where x is the number of equations she has solved and graphed, so
5+10x<180
10x < 175
She can solve 17 equations and have 5 minutes to spare.

I hope this helps...

1.) my answer would be
25=10+4.50x

this is because she has 25 dollars to work with. so that you would put on one side of the equation, then you know it definitely costs 10 so u put tht next. then it costs 4.50 per game. however, they didnt tell u how many games so tht would b x. you then subtract 10 from both sides and divide by 4.50 to solve for x. x would tell you exactly how many games.

2.) 180=5+10x

because 180 minutes is 3 hours. u know it def. takes her 5 minutes to get ready so u put in the 5. u then would put 10 x bc it takes her 10 mins to solve and graph the equations. however u need to find the number of equations so u put x next to 10. u then subtract 5 and divide by 10.

well hope i helped!!!
good luck!

well i can tell u the answer to them anyway. im pretty sure #1 is 5 games because u keep the shoes if you play a bunch of games so u only pay for the shoes once and then she plays a lot of games so i muliplies 10 by 4.50 which is 22.5 so shed have enough to play 5 games.
#2. i think its like 17 graphs in 3 hours.
forgive me if im wrong on these

Okay, if Maria has $25, and she neesd $10 for shoes, she only has $15 left to spend on games of bowling. If it costs $4.50 per game, then she can bowl 3 games ($4.50 + $4.50 + $4.50 = $13.50).

Try the same kind of procedure for the second one, you'll never learn if I just give you answers. Good luck.

1. make an equation
$25-$10= $15, she has 15 dollars left to bowl
$15divided by $4.50= answer
answer: about 3 games

2. three hours= 180 min
180-5= 175 divided by each problem
so 175 divided by 10= answer
answer= about17 problems

i hope that helps :]

half of word problems is putting them down on paper

1. $25 -10 to rent shoes = money left for games
money left (divided by) cost of game = how many games
no decimals - whole numbers only - she keeps the change

same for # 2
10 minutes to graph each problem
180 minutes to work - BUT first subtract 5 minutes to organize
175 divided by 10 and round DOWN - not up - for # of problems

all the best

number 1. 10 + 4.50y = 25
then you solve for y.

number 2 would be 5 + 10z = 3 times 60 (60 min in an hour.)

thats the equations.

hope it helps :]

Number one:

subtract 10 from 25. That leaves 15

Divide 15 and 4.5

0.3 games
Double check
