I was recently honorably discharged from the USAF, sitting in my Father’s apartment with two boyhood friends. My buddies and I had all been science fiction fans, members of the Young Rocketeer’s Society. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. If you didn’t experience the moment, you can’t possibly understand its impact. Many of us thought that was day 1, year 1.

You have evoked an incredibly important memory. Thank you.
