Is there a counterpart of the Palanca for drawing artists?

Sone kinda of award, competition of the same standing?

There is none. The contest I see that is as big, but not as prominent and respected, is the competition for the design.drawing for the PLDT Telephone directory cover.

none that I know of.

However artist's are generally awarded or becomes a national artist after some time.

it was only recently that Larry Alcala nd Alfred Alcala was awarded and recgnized for their drawing prowse.
