IMO, a good guitar solo is tons more meaningful than lyrics.

Thanks a bunch for all your answers - I wasn't sure if I'd get any! I thought I was the only one who found meaning in guitar solos.
I'll have to check out these songs... will take some time though! One of my favourites that comes to mind is Metallica - Fade to Black.

Very much so.
Pink Floyd had a great way with it. Time can really just make you stop.
As did Led Zeppelin- most clearly in 'Stairway to Heaven'.
Though not too big, Smashing pumpkins live version of 'United States'
All Along The Watchtower by Hendrix. Mindblowing, really.
I love a good solo. There are some things you just can't put into words.

I parent improv works maximum suitable. yet top now i've got greater my soloing capacity by way of potential of practising blues scale pentatonics.

ALL THE TIME!!
the first one for me was Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan.
the other ones are:
One by Metallica(it really speaks to me what that guy wanted to do instead of being stuck in a hospital)
Fade to Black by Metallica(this is one of the most memorable solos ever! i love it! it makes me tear up.)
Cemetary Gates by Pantera(it is really great. Dime had a way of making you live the song. it really makes me happy listening to this solo.)
No More tears by Ozzy Osbourne(i love it because it is such an epic solo. it comes straight out of a keyboard solo and kills all in its path.)
I love it all by metallica and pantera though.
RIP Cliff, Dime, and Stevie

Yes. A few;
When I was in my early teens, George Harrison's solo on "Something" was the 1st to speak to me.
Then out of all the solos I've heard one that moved me more recently was by the Black Crowes on "Sometimes Salvation'. It Drips w/ emotion & pain.

It's not a classic, but John Mayer's remake of Jimi Hendrix's Bold Is Love has an amazing solo - as does the original.

Definitely, George's Lynch's guitar says "CRANK ME UP!" Slipping Away by Dokken has an incredible Lynch solo in the middle.

i gotta say the solo on "stairway to heaven" is the most meaningful to me, if only because that's the song that made me want to learn to play guitar.
