That is funny and intuitive. It's for drama to make the show more "exciting". I think it's kinda like putting air conditioning in a convertible car. I guess there's a point all be it unnecessary.

So they are able to debunk much more then they can with the lights on. Also with the lights off the spirits/entities can move around and think that they can't be seen, but really they can. There are other reasons, but if you want more info then go to sci-fi.com and then go to ghost hunters. From there they should have a direct link to the official TAPS site. And there you can post your question and get answers from people that know, and from the TAPS people if you're lucky.

I assume if you watch the show you either believe in ghosts or at least the possibility of ghosts.

Have you ever seen one during the day?

Most would assume the light probably scares ghosts (provided they exist) or in some other way convinces them to stay out of the way that nighttime does not. To see a ghost, you have to make it want to stick around long enough for you to see it.

It's because you can't see them during the day, because they emit a faint white light. It doesn't mean they're not there. If you're sensitive to these things, you can still "feel" them & hear them during the day. I was sitting at the computer in the middle of the afternoon, & the spare room's door suddenly opened. No one using that room now. The dogs were across the room. No one was near the door. ........Just one of many examples.

It's easier to see pale shifting objects when its dark. Plus, when they're taking pictures with the flash on the camera looking for the little glowing orbs (like dust motes but bigger/more solid) they need to use a flash in a dark room so it's easier to pick up. But I'm sure drama for the show adds its influence there too.
