No, it is the nature of the beast!!! Politicians are owned operated by corporations and special interests (i.e., money).

I'll answer this question when I get up off the floor where I will have been laying, laughing, for at least an hour. Talk about an oxymoron! Honest politician? About like military intelligence. Doesn't exist.

I have a buddy that was elected Alderman of a mid-sized city.
He was an honest guy, and his whole goal was to curb wasteful spending.
He ended up resigning, because his job was reduced to approving the bills after the money was spent, and he wasn't going to be the the city's scapegoat when it caught up with them.
TO answer your question, honesty and politics rarely goes hand-in-hand.

Politics works like a spider trapping its prey.
lobbyists spin webs to catch the oposition in, once they are in it, they make a deal to survive a little longer, which usually ends up being a voting yea or ney on a bill that they wouldn't have.
This action is equivelent to a fly in the spider web fighting to get free, getting themself even more stuck. If they try to be honest after that, the press gets a phone call, and the spider gets to eat.

solid question. marketing campaign financing would verify to a pair boost, a favour in barter to marketing campaign financing from a man or woman, yet roots and branches of corruption or dishonesty are so deep that survival of honesty have been given question mark. we are in a place to not make the politicians straight forward yet make the government artwork, by potential of favourite changing the government which does not artwork. Honesty between politicians will come provided that their hearts sense for their solid and human beings consistently hate the cheating politicians irrespective of their man or woman benefit and activity.

Maybe not impossible, but very difficult.

There are politicians that are honest (assuming you mean that they tell the truth), but there are very few that are not influenced by the contributions of special interest groups.
