Those reality shows where these low-class tramps touting jealousy, envy, back-biting, back-stabbing, and every other negative attribute of the female condition.

I think these shows should be shown with a rating, or late at night. I would be horrified to have my daughter watch at such abominal behavior as much as these shows on prime-time TV with men fighting like dogs in the ring.

I think this must be what as known as de-evolution...we are regressing into pretty pathetic entities.

Your thoughts?

Well, there is technology available to block it if you find it necessary. Basically, the networks are only trying to make a living and feed their families. If there wasn't a market for that type of entertainment (I won't be caught dead watching that channel), it wouldn't exist.

Personally (and this is just me, to each his own), I don't think you really can shield any child from seeing that type of behavior. It's called reality because it is how people really do act. I would emphasize making them understand that this behavior does exist in many people outside your family, and there are strategies to deal with it.

Unfortunately, reality TV shows are relatively inexpensive to produce. That is why they are a favorite among television executives. That is also why there are so many of them. And I suspect that this trend will continue because people are watching them in sufficient numbers to keep them cost effective. Don't expect any changes. Maybe that is because that a majority of the viewing public has become desensitized.
As for me, I don't watch them.

If there are going to be TV channels specifically geared toward women, why don't they lay off the victimization for a while? Is that supposed to make us feel empowered?

I hear you and I don't understand it either. But it's not confined to just the Oxygen Network. "De-evolution" is a good term to use.

I'll have to take your word for it. I don't watch the Oxygen Network because it doesn't interest me.

They show it because you watch it, and buy the advertised products... it's a business decision

what scares me is knowing that "de-evolution" continues and to get ratings, they must keep lowering the bar.
