I've watched her, over the years, and it seems to me that her main contribution has been to relieve wealthy women of any guilt, that they might have felt, about living extravagant lives, in an impoverished world. She went so far, as to say, that "there are no victims in this world". And if anyone didn't agree with that ethos, their disbelief was due to their lack of understanding.

Am I missing something here; or is her philosophy exactly the same as the Protestant ethic that rules the Republican view of God and humanity?

When I was younger, I was gullible and believed in that kind of stuff; like people being the antichrist or the government trying to take over the world. I now know that this is absurd. Oprah Winfrey is not Satan, she is a TV personality that also happens to be good at speaking and amazing viewers. She has not done anything "evil." Remember, there are real people behind the celebrities you watch on TV. They have lives. They aren't bent on taking over the world either (most of them). If you want to know about someone, try and meet them, don't just formulate ideas about them and concoct conspiracy theories. You may just find that the person is completely different than you expected. :D

telling her fans that Hillary is not the answer. other than that, you stumped me. she's just like Suze Orman and Michael Savage, they all claim to represent some victimized demographic of society, and make a bunch of money spewing sympathy and prophesying revenge.
