how to get rid of ciggarrette smoke smell?

i just bought a twin set mattress off some neighbors and they smoke alot.i know there is alot of people that have asked how to get the smell of a mattress but how do i get rid of it on the box spring that thing smells worse than the mattress. is it the same way and those of you that did clean the mattress what method worked best for you??? please help the mattress set is for my son and i do not want him to be smellin that all night

Hi Melissa,

If you are in an area with decent weather, you can let them sit outside. The sun and wind should take care of it. I've had to do that with clothing. Also, try sprinkling with baking soda, letting it sit for a few hours and then vacuuming. The febreeze stuff seems to just cover up the cig stink with perfume.
