I looked the fuse up in the manual and pulled the number 3 20 amper in the power block. But even though it was only labelled to control the rear wiper, yanking it has also wiped out my gas and temp gauges along with my speedometer. These are things I can obviously see and do not really bother me but Im worried that the fuse might run a fan or something that can, in turn, screw the mechanics of the van up. Any ideas? Or has anyone had this problem?

the switch more than likely is the problem. I would personally encourage you to replace the defective switch rather than simply disconnecting the wiring. The easiest way to check the switch is with an ohm meter. move the switch into the off position and ohm across the wires. if it shows resistance than your switch is bad.

Try to pull the panel off to get the the rear wiper motor...then unhook or cut the wires. Once you have done this you can put your fuse back in for the other things.

Take the rear wiper switch out and disconnect the wiring or replace the switch, thats most likely the problem.
