In most of the world, it's cold when Christmas Day comes. Here, we usually have snow. But you are right, there's no reference to it in the Bible. If you do some research, you will find that evidence suggests that this is not the right time of year for Christ's birth. This is actually a pagan holiday. Christians started celebrating Christ's birth at this time of the year to prevent persecution.

That's the whole secular, European-based celebration of Christmas, which, not by accident, takes place at the time of the winter solstice. This is why I, as an atheist, have no problem celebrating Christmas in this secular way--but the minute someone can show me what snowmen, reindeer and a fat guy in a red suit have to do with the story in the Bible, I'll stop. I'm not holding my breath.

Because the majority of countries have a white winter snow Christmas, its just associated with the season... We dont have snow here either at xmas - its summer in Oz!
