Like National Univerity, or other schools that are more known for their online programs? Has anyone reading this graduated from a school like this, and has it hurt or helped to have it on your resume.

I can't go to a brick and mortar school right now, so UofP might be my only option.

Any thoughts?

You mentioned resume so I assume you are either planning to move or change your career, or are still quite young. I would advise against for-profit schools in this case. For-profits are not getting any better in terms of educational reputation, only worse, especially with recent news reflecting how many of these institutions are supporting financial aid fraud and hosting terrorists safe harbor. Many HR enterprise systems will automatically red-flag a for-profit listed and possibly delete and/or blacklist your application.

Look at regular state funded institutions; many of them have entire online programs established. These are reputable, real, programs that you can take and an employer will recognize.

I earned MBA/GM from UoP in my 40's, and I found no respect in the business world with a MBA from UoP. Before you earn it you will be required to do more work and pay more in tuition then at other universities for a degree that for me has been worthless. The reasons are many.

The caliber of the student body extremely low because of open enrollment anyone can attend UoP, and as you will see, most of them could not get accepted anywhere else, so you will be forced to carry those students through the program in the Learning Team environment.

UoP does not employee professors or licensed teachers only facilitators who do no teaching only facilitate the class according to a predetermined curriculum. Everything you learn, you will learn on your own, and those who not want to learn anything and just want a degree, they can get that here, which is why I have found their degrees are not respected in the business community.

UoP is the worst school anyone could attend. Look at the department of education FAFSA website and enter UoP and you will find that UoP has a graduation rate of 15%, meaning it has a failure rate of 85%. To attend UoP is to set ones self up for failure. Stay away from UoP. There are schools like Grand Canyon University that charges much less, has real teachers, and does not use learning teams. UoP is a joke and a degree from uop will not get you a job, anywhere. I know, I went there.

Look around! There might be others for your area of study, like Capella, Walden, or Western Governors University (WGU). If you can't do Brick and mortar, some of these programs are really good! Maybe not UOP, but honestly, look around. Stay away from westwood online. National is good, especially if you are in CA. WGU is good, but you MUST be very independent. UOP is not the best, or the only option.

None of these commercial enterprises are worthwhile. They charge a lot and offer very little. There are other options. A number of traditional (brick-and-mortar) schools offer online programs, and these tend to be far better (and usually cost far less) than places like UofP or National University.

I don't know about those except that they're pretty (really) expensive.
