Actually I have.
In fact I read the dictionary often... sometimes I just open it anywhere and read (there are so many things in this world I would never guess at, noted even in my pathetic dictionary),
and very often I want to be absolutely sure of the spelling and all the definitions of a word.
I come from a long line of avid Scrabble players, which may explain this somewhat. I also still write.

Not cover to cover or anything, but I rarely just make it to the word I'm looking for and close it right away, and sometimes I just pick it up to see what I can find. I learned the word "serendipity" that way, isn't that cool?

I refer to it all the time but I don't think I could actually read it like a book.

yes. I enjoy the spontaneous associations I make between the words on the same page.

It's actually a useful thing to do. You're not going to finish it, any particular time. But if you do it from time to time, I guarantee you some of it will rub off, and stick.
