Gretel. I think it's cute and any "Where's Hansel?, want to come to my gingerbread house?" Teasing would stop after elementary school. I think it's a strong name, the little Gretel in the story was pretty brave and I just like the name.

fyi, i'm not pregnant, i just like names.
i asked my 8 year old brother and his friend if they would tease a girl named gretel because of her name. they said no, because it's stupid.

I think the name Gretel is fit for a little girl because Gretel in the story was very brave to trick the witch and also she is smart.

I don't like it, but I do really like the Name Greta (or Gretta.)
The EL at the end makes it sound like an old womans name and just not pretty.

I don't think the teasing would start until after elementary school, and it's a perpetual little girl's name. It won't work well for an adult.

I am not fond of it. I just don't like the way it sounds. I think Greta/Gretta is much more fitting.

the teasing won't stop... trust me LOL. Once kids latch on to something they wont stop. My name is Stephanie and I was called Step-on-me even in high school. (so you know what I did? I stepped on their foot! hehhehehe)
