Well, generally people don't think of it this way, but going off to college symbolizes that the rest of your life is beginning, and you're at the end of preparing for it. For a lot of students, it symbolizes late-night partying, drinking, maxing out on credit cards, and doing whatever the Hell they want. But in reality, it's the first real step toward gaining responsibility, knowledge, and a good education.

Being able to sleep when you want to. My parents insisted on me having a normal sleep schedule, but I slept better during the day and worked better at night. They would wake me up whenever they saw me sleeping. >.>

But! On a more normal level, I love the freedom of going out without even having to mention it to another person. :D

freedom, when you live at home, you have to fight tooth and nail if you want to go anywhere, and if you move into an apartment or room in someone's house, you have to work 90 hours a week, so you don't get to enjoy it at all.
