They are afraid the public will see them as not supporting the troops. I also believe they are not committed to ending the war at this time because they really don't feel it would be in the best interest of the country but don't have the guts to say so.

Congress today bows constantly to the president, effectively handing him very control of the nation.
The Republicans are corrupt, so I agree with A, and the Democrats are also corrupt, although to a lesser degree, and are unwilling to counter the Republicans as you say.
I agree with C though, becuase no matter which party is elected, no real change is happening.
Congress as a whole, has become a special interest forum, where members spend more time adding useless "pork" project addons to laws for their electoral districts, rather then making laws themselves.

Congress replaced into meant to be representative of the folk at super. The disappearance of statesmanship in Congress reflects a ordinary loss of classification in society. Congress is now like an NFL interest at which basically the cheerleaders take the sector.

Republicans look after the well being of All citizens and Democrats look after the fulfillment of their egos. Everyone gives the blame for the state of our Union to the President, when in fact, he does not initiate nor make laws. It is our inept Congressmen and Senators who are the real culprits in the rapid distrust of our Government system and the Liberal newspapers and magazines that are after the almighty dollar that foster distrust and disrespect for our Commander and Chief. Look at the history books and you will find the names of All of the candidates that preached doom and then for political purposes lay blame for our problems on the President. If you think you can do a better job, run for office and if you can collect the most money, especially from the movie actors (they are called actors because thats what they do, act) then you might just have a chance to be crucified like the President. Slick Willie got the same treatment as will the future Presidents. If you want to stop the abuse, Vote to rid the Congress and Senate of ALL the incumbents and put someone in office that cares about the people and not how rich and famous they can become.

All of the above. Congress is more interested in protecting their own power than serving the people.

None of the above.
The party in power has an incentive to pork spend their way to remaining in power.
The party out of power will decry the pork not because they want less government but because, they are not getting their fair share.
