I would not do it if I were you. I work in Human Resources, and all it takes is one person to see you out partying and if HR is tipped off, then you have shot your credibility with them. They are very unlikely to help you when you exceed your allowable absences.
Think of it this way...let's say your company allows only so many absences and then you get close to the max and something genuinely important, like a death in the family or a real family emergency, or another real situation happens and you go to your boss to get time off. If they realize that you lied once about being sick, do you really think they will believe you when it's a real emergency???

Wow, I haven't done that in many years!
I'll just go to work and suffer in silence or I would leave work early rather then just call in sick.

I never have. No matter how bad I've felt I've always dragged my a ss in. Its the principle of the thing. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
