Is it based off of the male's genetics or the females??
For example, if a guy tends to have a lot of women in his family and not many males... if he produces a baby with a woman who has a lot of males in her family, and not a lot of females... is the unborn baby most likely going to be female?

Im just trying to understand what influences the chances of having a girl vs a boy..?

sorry is this sounds confusing, any information will be appreciated ~ thanks!

Okay, here's how it works: Every man has one X chromosome and one Y chromosome. When he produces sperm, each sperm ends up with half of the genes that every person needs (because the other half comes from you). So, each sperm gets either the X or the Y. Half of his sperm are X and half are Y. He makes the exact same number of each.

So it may seem that boys run in some families and girls run in other families, but it's really just a matter of chance. Sorry. I know you want to know, but you'll just have to wait & see. :)

ETA: X sperm makes a girl and Y sperm makes a boy.

The sex of a baby is determined by a man's sperm. A woman's egg only carries the X chromosome because a female is XX chromosome, the man's sperm can carry either X or Y chromosome because a male chromosome is XY. A child gets one sex chromosome from each parent, so XX is female baby, XY is male baby.

In a general population, the odds of a boy or girl baby is 50/50. However, in specific individuals there may be a tendency for one sex or the other. In other words, the more children of one sex that a man has, the more likely his is to continue having children of that same sex because of the way his individual body produces sperm.

I dont really think its anything to do with genetics. Sperm comes in Y or X chromosomes. Each sperm is either male or female carriers. All men have both male and female sperm. I think its just nature. I have no idea if a man could have more of one than the other or if its just an even number of both. I would think it was just an even number of both and its just the luck of the draw whether the female or male sperm gets to the egg first.

The x or y chromosome decides the sex of your baby. Men carry both and women only carry the x. So an xx baby is a girl and a xy baby is a boy. So you pretty much have a 50/50 chance of either one. One thing you can do is bd 4 days before ovulation because the xx sperm live longer than the xy sperm. Good Luck and I hope this helps!!!

The males sperm determines what the baby will be.
He has x and y chromosomes.
A female only has x chromosomes.
Xsperm+Xegg=female baby
Ysperm+Xegg=male baby

Gender is determines after the sperm meets the ova. In fact, at initial fertilization, every egg starts out female, then may become male.

So, we were all female at one point!

sperm does not have a sex. the sex of the baby does not develop until it is in the uterus, it is the male parts of the baby the develop later.
