I know everybody gets crazy about earmarks, and I don't like them much myself, but you have to put things in perspective. Earmarks total about $5-10 billion, which is less than a half of a percent of the federal budget. Eliminating earmarks won't balance the budget by a long shot.
Some of you are just plain ignorant. Earmarks are not the reason for the deficits, that would be the $700 billion spent for the war.

The truth is that the federal govt. has no money and pays for earmarks with air further pushing us into debt.
We voted for Bush and are paying for it.
