I have one Jan 28th that may be my last. I read today that congress passed a spending bill that will give doctors that treat Medicare patients a .05% raise in their pay. In order to pay for that increase they will no longer pay for prescription medications administered in a doctors office, such as certain cancer medications. These injections cost $3750.00 every 3 months, there's no way I can pay that. We have Medicare, BC & BS supplemental insurance and our out of pocket expense was $6,450.00 this past year. I don't know what we can do but we had something similar happen 15 months ago and I just don't feel up to fighting the bureaucratic red tape anymore. Merry Christmas y'all.

Yes, I have two in person appointments and one phone
appointment so far lined up for January. I know I
will also have to have that once a year mam too. I already
have a paper to use for going in. Then I think I'm done forever.
They say now, that once you reach 65, it's bye bye to the
mamogram, and maybe the other thing too. What bliss that
will be, to be 'free at last' LOL.

Yep I sure do, January the 2nd I am going in to have a tooth pulled out. Mom has a appointment the same time as I do, she is having one cut out. We both have to be on medicine 2 weeks before the appointment date and mom has to STOP taking her blood thinner prior to the tooth being cut out.

Yes, I have my 6 month dental cleaning in February and my annual dermatology check up for November 2008. Feels strange to type November 2008. Of course, 2007 is still strange to me. Where have all the years gone and who is that old lady staring back at me in the mirror. lol

I recently had a dentist's appointment, and they wanted to schedule my next check-up. The receptionist said, "How about June 2 at 10:45?" And I said, "Oh, I'm busy that day." I went ahead and scheduled it, but you know I'll forget it.

Tomorrow morning I am going by to see the doctor for more allergy pills. I don't know why my allergies are so bad this year, never been this bad before for so long. I don't plan on going back for another 6 months for more allergy medication.

I really dont like the doctor I have right now-but I have 2 prescriptions tied to his office. I know what you have to go through to make the change and I'm putting it off as long as possible. I really should have my yearly physical but it seems like I just finished the last one. I know one thing-no more colonoscopies. I'm a nurse and maybe you can understand that I dont like doctors. They can make you sick-lol.

Nope. I only go to the doctor's when I'm really, really sick. Last visit was December 26, 1995....caught whatever nasty flu was going around that year and ended up in the emergency room for a coupla hours.....YUCK!!
I'm a pretty healthy gal...good genes, I suppose, because I have many, many "fitness faults".
Someday, something will slap me upside my head and bring me to my knees but until that happens, I happily avoid doctors, prescription medication and worrying about my health...
