5/6 = 15/18 (by multiplying by 3/3)
1/9 = 2/18 (by multiplying by 2/2)

15/18 - 2/18 = 13/18

5/6 - 1/9
First, find the least common denominator for 6 and 9 which is 18
18 goes into 6, three times
18 goes into 9, two times
therefore, multiply 5/6 by 3
and multiply 1/9 by 2
and you will get 15/18 - 2/18
your answer will be 13/18 since the denominator stays the same

LCM for 6 and 9 is 18:

(5*3)/18 - (1*2)/18 =
15/18 - 2/18 =
13/18
