My friend isn't sure if he believes in evolution or creation, because he is agnostic; that makes me see him as a detestable heretic.
Agnostic-someone who is unsure if God exists or not. Not like an atheist, who believes there is no God at all; but an agnostic just isn't sure either way.
Detestable-Someone or something that is able to be hated. That is the definition, but I think it would be more accurate to say not just able to be hated but invites hatred.
Heretic-someone who gives teachings that are at odds with the teachings of the Bible, or more accurately with the teachings of the churches (since they left the Bible's and Jesus' original intent a long time ago).
Add-on:
I do not consider agnostics to be detestable heretics, that was just for the sentence. Agnostics are just trying to learn like everyone else, and they are the most open-minded of all people as far as religion goes.
