He was young, vibrant, good looking and struck down in his prime. Plus he is part of the Kennedy dynasty and touched by what some call the Kennedy mistique or mystery. The entire family has been touched by tragedy (a brother died in WW II, a sister was mentally challenged; a second brother was killed while running for president, a baby son died at birth, his surviving son died in a plane crash) and that adds to the "buzz" you hear. Throw in an affair with Marilyn Monroe, some mob connections, war hero status, unquestioned answers about his death, and you've got someone people are interested in. He could have become a great president, but we will never know, since he was struck down after about a 1000 days in office.

John F. Kennedy was interesting for a number of reasons. The first reason is perhaps the most obvious. He was the President of the United States. In addition to this, he was the first, and so far, only, non-Protestant president. Also, he was the youngest president ever. Finally, his assassination made him well-known. There is still a mystery about his assassination becuase the cuprit hasn't been caught and probably won't be caught.

More facts: Kennedy won the Pulitzer Prize in 1957 for biography for his book "Profiles in Courage". "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." is often quoted from him. He started the Peace Corps. He managed to keep us out of a nuclear war with the Soviets during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It was a very, very close thing too.
Figjam, you got it completely wrong about his children. He had a daughter named Caroline and a son nicknamed John-John. President Kennedy also had another son that was born prematurely and died while Kennedy was in office so maybe you are partially right. Caroline is the only one of the family still living. Jackie Kennedy, his widow, married Greek billionaire (shipping) Aristotle Onassis. Her 2nd husband also died but of medical causes, I forget what. John Kennedy, Jr. died in a plane crash along with his wife and sister-in-law. Jackie Kennedy Onassis died of cancer. Caroline is still around.

The man had charisma plus. He was highly intelligent and people knew it. He was also a war hero - his PT boat was rammed at night by a Japanese destroyer and he saved two or three of his unconscious mates by swimming to the nearest island with them. As President he made an electrifying speech about civil rights that made my racist parents very angry. Johnson carried on his civil rights agenda.
His handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis saved the world from nuclear war.
Kennedy was very much admired abroad. Nikita Krushchev wept openly at the news of his assassination, as did millions of others.

For starters, he was the first President to be born in the 20th century. He was also a fierce patriot, a born politician, and was very well-versed in foreign affairs. He was very well educated and had published two books prior to being elected President.
He was murdered as the result of a conspiracy which was either tied to the Bay of Pigs, his brother's stance against the Mafia, his policy to withdraw troops from Southeast Asia beginning in December of 1963 (which Johnson rescinded the day after his assasination), or possibly his decision to return America to the gold standard, which angered the Rothschild banking empire.

He was one of four, and most recent, of assasinated U.S. Presidents.
75% of American believe all the facts still aren't in, and many suspect conspiracy.
He was the first Catholic, and a very popular president.
Incidentally, Richard Nixon lost to him only to win twice after his death.
Many think his assasination was related to the Bay of Pigs Fiasco in Cuba.
Probably his greatest achievement was his vision of landing a man on the moon before the century was out. Which he didn't live to see.
Tinker's e-mail is a reknowned misconception. Most of it is either entirely untrue or misleading. There are always similarities in assasinations. Snopes.com debunks most all of it.

Do you know he was our President? Do you know he was assassinated?
That's all I'll tell you. You can take it from there, study this man for the rest of your life, and still not hear half of what there is to know.
