Do you have a problem with this? Have you tried the energy efficient, compact flourescent bulbs yet?
Thanks!

Sure, they cost more. Your savings come in the long run by the energy they save.
I believe dimmable ones are now out, perhaps just not widespread yet.

I think the new bulbs are outrageously priced and even though they are energy efficient, they are not dimmable which is why I don't have them yet. All my lamps are 3-way. But, honestly, price those suckers, they're like $5-6 a bulb!!!

I don't have any problem with it. The new ones are expensive, but they will save me some money in the long run because they last for a long time and use less energy. I used to work for a utility company, so I am all about conserving energy.

I've tried the new energy efficient bulbs, and was converted. They're much brighter, more efficient, and last a hell of a lot longer. You definitely get more bang for your buck. The box says that if used 4 hours a day, they last 11 years. Incandescent bulbs lasted two weeks in my faultily wired house. Since I got the new ones, I haven't had to replace one bulb in six months.

Yeah, I have them all through my house and shop. It takes 4 of the new bulbs to give the same or comparable light as the incandescent bulbs but that's still 56 watts vs 75watts.

I like the new bulbs and I don't really have a problem with the revelation. The world has bigger problems than light bulbs becoming obsolete.

You don't have to agree with me but respect my opinion please: It does not make a diffrence how meny lights I have on or how long as long as i can pay for it!! the diffrence is getting off oil and finding clean ways to produce energy. oh and when one blows up what happens? the hole house is a haserdis zone and you have to pay for a HAZMAT ream to come in.
I like the idea and lights for one or two rooms but not the hole house
