If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment.

There is yeast infection medicine that you can buy over the counter, at the store. There is no age limit. Try Monistat Its near where they sell tampons and condoms, or near the Pharmacy. Ask the Pharmacist to help you find/decide what to use.

(Pharmacists have a medical degree and know a lot about the drugs available to you)

you need to see a doctor.

if you've never had a yeast infection than you don't know if it's really one.

I thought I had a yeast infection but I went to the doctor and it was that plus a really bad bladder infection so I needed real treatment not just monistat from the store.

1st off you need to know if it is a yeast infection.
Do not just assume that it is.
Do NOT just go and buy OTC medicine!

A Dr. is the only one that can tell you if it is or not.
Ask your mom or someone close to take you.
Yeast infections are NOT a sexual disease, so don't be scared to ask someone to take you.

You can buy it at any pharmacy. If you are not sure what you are looking for, ask the pharmacist. You should not be ashamed of telling your parents though, because contrary to some peoples belief, Yeast infections are not caused by sex.

Yes. You don't need a prescription. It's just in the medicine isle at any walmart, target, or pharmacy. It's usually a cream.

There are several different kinds available at the drug store. Why in the world are you ashamed, it happens to people all the time. Tell your parents and hope that is all it is.
