what qualities do you look for in a friend?

i'm a teenage girl so it's kind of hard at this point to find someone who is really a dependable and good friend. i mean, there are a lot of catty girls out there. but basically i look for someone that has similar interests to me, a sense of humor, intelligence (that way they can keep up with me intellectually haha), and who is honest. like, when people make up excuses because they don't feel like hanging out, that is one of my pet peeves. they end up hurting my feelings more by going behind my back and making up these elaborate lies. it's really annoying. also, no bitchy girls. there are enough people like that in the world! i like people with a laid back attitude.

Honesty, willingness to be there for me when I need a friend, listening, and sharing with me the same. Something in common usually helps, but I have friends who are nothing like me, we get asked all the time how we became friends, so like other relationships your mind plays very little part in it, your heart usually leads the way.
