Each and evevery day I see people who ask questions and then after looking a few days later only to find them in voting, My question is this, Will you do your part after asking a question to take the time and follow up on that question you have asked and pick a best answer to the question, People ask these questions to get answers and answerers answer these questions in hopes of getting the best answer because they put research and knowlege into them, So why not pick a best answer, This is especially true of kids asking homework questions,,, Please do your part would you and pick the best answer to your questions? This is asked in astronomy and space because this is where alot of it goes on,

The points are not so much important for myself but there are many who would like to have those points for the amount of research and to share their knowlege with that questioner and then only see it go to voting where a voter may pick the very first one he/she sees and in some cases is the the wrong answer,

Hello Rog!
Yes, I feel the exact same way!
In my tenure here, I've asked a total of 18 (ohmygawd) questions, and each and every one of them has been researched, considered, and weighed against the others as to which one I thought was the best.
Often times, it doesn't co-relate with the public's (or my own sick mind's) thinking, but it always seems to weigh out equally in the end.
The answer doesn't necessarily need to be the best, it only needs to be the best to me!
I agree whole- heartedly with you, askers SHOULD pick their 'Bests'.
Just because I do, though, doesn't mean that everyone else will, as well!
Best Regards, and Clear Skies!
Bobby

I also spend quite a bit of time researching my answers, and find it very gratifying when one of my answers is chosen as "best" and the asker has made some interesting comments, or asks me to elaborate. Een a simple "Thanks!" is welcome. I read all the asker's responses to my "best" questions, and follow up where appropriate. This is a way in which everyone learns something.

Yet I'm convinced that 99% of the askers here never look at anybody else's questions, or else why would they keep asking the same questions over and over. I've stopped reading a lot of the questions, especially the speculative ones, the 2012 ones, and the homework ones. Often I read through answers and mark them thumbs up or down, since I have no need for points myself, and only answer myself if there's a preponderance of wrong answers. The questions I enjoy answering the most are those about telescopes and observing.

They act like they don't want us to invite inquiries to assist human beings they act like numerous question potential you want the respond however the asker can already comprehend that answer. each and every so often i comprehend my answer and that i ask to share my wisdom or ideals . a number of the answerers anticipate i want help. Asking is merely as considerable as answering.

youre absolutely right. its so frustrating to write a detailed well researched and well thought answer only to see no best answer picked. its like your answer isnt even read. it dosnt bother me too much when another answer is picked, unless its a really dumb answer or an answer pandering to the askers preconcieved bias. nothing is more annoying than an unread answer. good question! (it really wasnt a question though!)

I'm grateful for the same thing, and for the thumbs-up or down. Keeps me on the straight and narrow. I've had a couple of multi-thumbs-downs, mostly because of poorly-worded questions. I've also had a couple of real shockers that sent me back to the books.

Feedback is good. If you know what you're on about.
