Do most homosexuals suffer depression, or undergo depression?

Indeed; a majority of humans experience depression at some point. Studies have shown that the incidence of depression & alcoholism is higher in gays percent-wise, than in the general population. Suicide rates (especially among gay teens) are especially much higher. It's generally felt that being part of a marginilized minority sub-culture is mostly to blame for this. Gays also lack in the area of familial support when compared to heterosexuals. The good news? Gays are more likely to identify it when they are depressed, are more likely to seek help and counseling, and more likely to adhere to the regimen prescribed if anti-depressants are indicated.

I think most human beings experience depression at least once in their lives.

I'd be very surprised if the negative attitudes that most homosexual people are subjected to don't lead to depression at least once or twice in their lives.

I suffer from bi-polar with depressed episodes, although I do not believe it has anything to do with my homosexuality. Actually, it runs in my family. Many of my heterosexual relatives have it too. :@)

No, most gays are happy. Only a minority suffers depression, partly due to discrimination. So, the way to fight against depression is to kill discrimination.

I haven't heard that. I suppose it would be depressing if you were "closeted" but people are more tolerant now so living an openly gay lifestyle wouldn't be depressing.
