A guy COULDN'T have made carseats. They don't have the patience. I mean really, if it was up to them they'd stick a pillow on the seat and that would satisfy them.

Many things we use every day are designed by people who have had no experience actually using the thing they are designing. This is why almost everything is terrible and uselessly designed and does not work well in the way it was intended.

Also, highway engineers who design roads where four lanes merge into two under a bridge with an entrance on one side of the bridge and an exit on the other almost never have drivers licenses. They are egotisitcal propellerheads who take the bus to work.

You don't need a man for that, but be sure it's anchored tight enough not to move more then an inch when moved from side to side. To do that you'll need to put your whole body weight on it (knee in the seat) while you make the anchors tight.
