Was pennywise a clowen or a spider? What was its real form?

Pennywise was a large grotesque spider. The clown was a 'form' the monster took on. Personally, clown was scarier than the spider.

Pennywise started off a clown, but then morphed into a spider around the final climax.

The spider thing was the real form. The clown was creepier if you ask me.

the ruined the movie if you want my honest opinion, but he was a demon is the form of a clown they added the spider part in the movie only and wasn't his real form
