Where?

In our solar system (based on the latest definition of the IAU) there are 8 (principal) planets, 3 dwarf planets and millions of minor planets.

In the rest of the universe, we know of 269 so far, with gazillions more to be discovered.

Were 9 but now 8 since Pluto was demoted. We have found more objects in the general orbit of pluto which are larger than pluto so the definition of "planet" was reevaluated. The old mnemonic devise: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pickles (for Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) no longer is correct. Maybe you can come up with a new mnemonic.

In our solar system there are eight if you don't count Pluto since Pluto was recently ruled to not be a planet anymore.

In the universe, there are an unknown amount.
