On other other hand, if you have some cheap mass-produced souvenir, take off the rust with steel wool and polish it with chrome polish.

Soak it in white vinegar for some days. After some days, pour some non iodized salt contained in the vinegar answer. I use lemon pledge on my motorcycle. Don't put it on the exhaust or engine, or parts that get really hot.
