There is plenty to do in Memphis, but to be honest there is not a lot to do around Graceland. The area for the most part around Graceland is pretty rundown, Graceland however and the grounds, hotel and other museums are really nice. You will be fine there. I would cruise on over to Beale Street and check out some of the great places to see music. BB King’s is a must! You never know who is going to be playing there and well the food is not that bad either. Also stop into Wet Willies and pick yourself up a drink they have the best frozen drinks around, and yep you can taste the liquor in them which is nice. The Rum Boogie Café has awesome food and has live music all the time, there is also Alfred’s on Beale which is also nice, good food and music.

We took this really cool tour last time we were there called the Backbeat Music Tour. They had real musicians from around the area giving the tour and they took you to all the great places that have to do with music in Memphis. We went all over including Sun Studios which is just really cool. Here is their info:

If you can take short drive out of town I recommend going and seeing the Jack Daniels Distillery. This place was way cool and very interesting to see how Jack is made. We had a really good time on our tour:

Take at Trolley Trip around the city. Great way to see the city and they drop you off right by the shops and restaurants in the different areas of the city. Cheap transportation and you don’t have to worry about directions. They take you from Beale Street, to the River Walk, to the Pyramid and more. Besides they are historic to Memphis.

I also really like the Delta Blues Museum, great museum that tells you the history of the Blues and artist from the region. There is plenty to see here it will keep you busy for hours. They have musical instruments, gold records, personal items and so much more to see from a lot of famous artist.

The Memphis Zoo is also really nice. Doesn’t matter what age you are they have a great zoo and it is a lot of fun. It really is set up nice and there is plenty to see there. We try to go each time we visit Memphis.

The Memphis Rock and Soul Museum is also another great place for music lovers to visit. Covering everything from Rock to Blues to Soul. This museum is truly a unique treasure. I really have been to no other place like it. You also get this really cool audio tour with your admission.

You also really must check out Sun Studios, you know the place were Elvis first recorded. Well tons of other artists have recorded here and this little place is well worth the stop. They have some AWESOME memorable there, great pictures of not only Elvis, but Jerry Lee, Johnny Cash and more! This is a Memphis Must!

Another Memphis must is while you are on Beale Street stop in the Peabody hotel and see the ducks. Okay so they are ducks in a fountain but, they have been in Memphis forever, free and fun to see! If you can go at like 11 or 5 you can see them march from the pond to their elevator which is kinds funny. I mean ducks getting the royal treatment must be nice!

If you like casinos you can always drive to Tunica, it is not that far away and there are plenty of Casinos to choose from there. Sorry I don’t know too much about them I don’t gamble much I just know that they are there.
You could always take a riverboat cruise. I have not done that in years, but it is a great way to see the city. They have all kinds of them from sightseeing cruises to dinner cruises. The last time we did one we had a great time!

There are so many wonderful places to eat in Memphis; you have got to have some BBQ! This is some of the best in the world. Some of my favorite places are:
Corkey’s BBQ
Neely’s
Blues City Café
All of these places have WONDERFUL BBQ!
For other dinning options I might check out these places:
Hard Rock- they are always good!
Majestic Grille is always nice, good service and food 1940’s style bar and restaurant very nice.
The Blue Monkey, classic American Food with a twist.
Dyers Burgers are the best in town!
The ******** Camel, another Memphis Tradition, great food!
The other thing that I would do before your trip is check out this website:
http://www.memphistravel.com/visitors.asp
They have tons of information on this site; use it to plan our trips to Memphis. They also have a ton of coupons for places. I would also order your FREE visitors guide. It has maps, attractions and COUPONS! That can save you a ton of cash. Have a great time in Memphis!

Can't add much more than what you got in the first answer. When you go to Graceland try to go first thing in the morning before it gets too crowed. Have a great trip and don't forget to TCB!!
