Should he be arrested for stautory rape? Didn't some black kid do 5 years just for getting a bj? But that molester is being congratulated! Does that seem right to you? Yeah Jamie's a tramp but her boyfriend is breaking the law!

JR I disagree. The kid who did time for the bj was charged by the state even though the girl said it was consentual and would not press charges. True the law differs from state to state but it also differs from skin color to skin color.

Laws on statutory rape vary by state and in most someone involved would have to press charges. I doubt this is a case where anyone would do that.

Good observation, read about that case a few years ago, even the girl said it was consensual but the guy (a teen himself) got prison time.
Jamie's b/f is 19, so technically it's a violation of the law but he won't face any charges for several reasons: He's her longtime b/f, the DA knows that no jury would convict him, the couple would probably go ahead and get married if he were charged.
Sometimes, there's different rules for the rich and famous.

From CALIFORNIA PENAL CODE
SECTION 261-269
261.5. (a) Unlawful sexual intercourse is an act of sexual
intercourse accomplished with a person who is not the spouse of the
perpetrator, if the person is a minor.
For the purposes of this section, a "minor" is a person
under the age of 18 years and an "adult" is a person
who is at least 18 years of age.
(C) An adult who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse
with a minor at least three years younger than the adult is liable
for a civil penalty not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
From what I've read he's 19 and she's 16 but I don't know if there's exactly three or more years difference.

i second that. you see it is what it is. racism lives. it used to be concealed and blinded by the power certain people hold but this kid from nickelodeon is who? i don't know him..besides hes a white kid who is occasionally on television. the media is just making this like its a courageous act that hes taking responsibility, yet to not have been charged with a crime which is was. but since hes a celebrity or lack there of and the proper persuasion hes given a pat on the back? when there was an act of sexual intercourse deeper than home boy from ATL who just got out of jail this year from a 7 year bid for the same thing. and hes a nobody...well at least when it 1st occurred. now because of it he is famous and not in a good way. being charged with statutory rape is a lifetime crime that will never leave his record. hes scared for life with what he was caught doing. and while this guy goes all the way to create a life with a 16yo and America gives him the "congressional medal of honor?" (Forrest Gump). people please! was it because he started a family and is willing to be a father and not just sexing her up for kicks? i mean c'mon the girl from ATL didn't even press charges the state did. just cause he had a video out for evidence. 16 YO pregnant?! thats evidence.

I wonder how it can be that teens who get pregnant at a young age are shamed by parents, churches, and all sorts of folks. But if a celebrity (even the young ones) get pregnant, it's big news with headlines and TV time. What a mixed message we send to teenagers.
